Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Tuesday, 16 December 1941
[I Ching hexagram] 47.
5 2nd waking. Some 241 [asthma symptoms], depressed (1)[Heroin] inadequate.
7 1/2 (2)[Heroin].
Went shopping in sunny air.
11 o’c. Quite ok but (3)[Heroin] as routine.
Tried Veeraswamy [restaurant] after 7 years: coarse and bad as ever.
Slept heavily & at once till 4 o’c (4)[Heroin].
Alice [Alice Florey] here: can’t take any interest in reading or anything else.
7 1/4 M&A[tropine].
9 1/4 still dull at this time.
7 1/2 [Henry] Swansy: he called it off.
So (5)[Heroin]. One dream was that we had an Alert, but the ‘planes, which were very many, were all smashed or driven off: none reached us. I gave a sort of lecture about this.
