Saw Ordway U.S.A. Consul v.[ery] charming; advised quota. Talked with quota girl.
6 o’c. Enter Gerald Barry, without my suitcase, as promised for to-day, but with a hard-luck story, defining him as the “stranger” of [I Ching hexagram] line 3. I remembered in time about the “Same Bee.”
