7.30 a.m. The above [5 July Diary entry] was finished at 4.30 or so; I got up and amended a phrase or two at 5.00, then slept till 7, when I woke very fresh and well, in deliciously cool air, wondering if Jane [Jane Wolfe] turns up at the last moment.
10.00 a.m. No Jane.
