Q[uer]y? Are all these troubles in China [Yunnan-Fu] due to A[bramelin] devils. I ask A[ugoeides] for "a sufficient measure of protection." Like an instant's reply come Wilkinson's[2] letter settling up things.

 

1—This indicates the Invocation of Augoeides.

2—Wilkinson was the Consul General at Yunnanfu.
