Mary Butts Diary Entry

Now this is over, if anything is ever over. We had a great holiday in Germany and quarreled on the question of drugs when we returned here—I thought he would not stop. We have quarreled, shot off at different angles, re-approached and settled down again. I was afraid he had ‘taken to’ dope instead of amusing himself with it. He shewed me again his will to lead the life we imagined together.

I am not absolutely at ease but have checked impatience and too great idealism.

Crowley has had no success in London [where he is promoting his Diary of a Drug Fiend]. I dislike this book and all that it is about. Everything but the daimon.

Signature—that I should be on the jury of the Gunner Moir case.
