As far as Mercury is concerned the Alchemists would say we have attempted a mixture with impure gold or Mercury is not extracted with sufficient heat. Well I tried & so did you & if we haven't made the Philosopher's Stone I feel I have extracted something which is precious to me. I am painting & have intervals of rare pleasure to [sic] on my! its 'ard work.
