Nasty Sort

Do you remember anything about a person who was labelled by some newspapers as the wickedest man in the world? Probably not. Yet Messrs. Rider and Co. have published “The Great Beast,” a life of this Aleister Crowley, by John Symonds.

Crowley did some mountaineering in the Himalayas and wrote some verse.

Otherwise, so far as I can learn from this boring volume, he lived a nasty sort of life. Why anybody ever hailed this drug addict as a leader beats me.
